1968 Dodge Dart GTS
This is David Dunlap's
original 1968 383 4-speed GTS. Dave wanted a mild, 440, that he could
drive everywhere, since he doesn't own a car hauler, and still be able
to easily run 10's. The car's been
10.70's @ 124MPH with 3.55 gears on race gas. Keep in mind that with a
cam swap and a little bit bigger set of heads, it'd easily be a low
10/high 9 second car.........but Dave's car doesn't even have a roll
bar, and that's not what he wanted because he's got two other quicker
cars than this one if the need for speed arises.......

Motor is
a 10.9 to 1 .030 over 440 with ported Edlebrock heads done by
Dwayne Porter @ Porter Racing Heads. It's got an 850 Demon
with Victor
intake, big tube under chassis headers, and a small solid roller cam
with .582 lift on the intake and .588 lift on the exhaust with
282/282
advertised duration. Converter is a 9.5 inch that stalls the engine at
about 4,500 RPM

This is the view that
most see because Dave prowls the streets with
Hoosier Quick Time Pro's so he's always ready to Lay the Smack
down on
some unsuspecting, pimple faced, kid in a fart piped Honda or newer
Mustang......and believe me, he's done it a few times.......

This is the first time
at the track with the new bullet and it
runs 10.99 on it's very first pass!!! My two sons are in the foreground
enjoying the Oklahoma sun........
