1972 Dodge Dart Swinger
Jason W. brought us this
20,000 original mile 1972 Dart Swinger for an EXTREME Makeover,
Smothers style........It was originally a slant 6, auto on the column
car.
Jason had the car repainted in it's original blue, added the scoops,
and tail stripe.
Jason drove
the car in the shop and we knocked the 6 banger in the
head. Now it's got a 10.5 to 1 416" 340 with Edelbrock heads ported by
Dwayne Porter and small,very streetable, solid roller cam with .589
lift and 260 degrees of duration @ .050 on the intake and .598 lift and
268 degrees of duration @ .050 on the exhaust. It's got a Victor intake
with a 750 Holley HP, TTI step headers, and a Monte Smith nitrous
system that's adjustable high enough to blow the crankshaft right out
of the bottom end if Jason is so inclined..........
The way the
car sits, on
M/T Street Radials, the car's been 11.15 @ 121MPH on just the motor,
without the catchup in the bottle.......It's also got a 3,800RPM
nitrous converter and a low gear set 904 with 3.91's in the 8 3/4. We
also pimped out the suspension with heim joint strut rods and
adjustable QA1 shocks on all four corners.
The car is still shifted
by the factory
column shifter, although it is reverse pattern now. The interior is ALL
100% original, including the seats, floor mats, headliner, dash, dash
pad, door panels, and interior door paint.........
