1963 Max Wedge Replica

Tom W. recently traded his '69 GTX towards this '63 Plymouth Savoy 426 Max Wedge replica. Tom brought the car to us to have a battery drain fixed, fix the fuel gauge, and to do a Super Tune to get the car to idle correctly. The car is a blast to drive now. It runs great and is a hand full on the street while pushing the buttons to shift it.

The high compression 496" 440 with SR Heads and roller cam motor was rebuilt by Muscle Motors and features a crossram intake with two 750 Edelbrocks. .

Car's got a 4.10 geared 8 3/4, 4,500 converter, and a pushbutton transmission. Shift as hard as you want, just don't break your finger!!! It's run a best of 11.31 @ 119MPH with the electric exhaust cutouts open. Capped up it's been 11.45 @ 117MPH. The car runs OK, but I feel this combo should be in the 10.50 to 10.70 range. I've been working on Tom to try and get him to sell this motor and let us build him a new one from scratch, but he's happy with the performance and the car already runs quicker than the roll bar rule anyway (you're supposed to have a roll bar if you go quicker than 11.49 at an IHRA track).

This Savoy features black and red interior with a Monster tach. We also installed a CRT reverse pattern manual vavle body with low band apply.
